Why did you choose your industry?To assist in building homes for Military Veterans and getting them out of homelessness.
Who are your typical clients?Military Veterans.
What do you like best about being in this industry?Connecting with my local community to assist Military Veterans in need. Making impactful lasting relationships and being surrounded by folks who fought for this country and watching them light back up again.
What are common problems you see?Tremendous competition. It poses challenges for a small business to stand out. Pricing of materials is also very volatile with changes in macro and micro-econ.
What advice/tips do you have for clients?Please be prepared with many questions by doing research prior to interaction. This will help drive a healthy and active conversation so we are all on the same page at project inception to finish.
When is your busy season?Most of the year except close to December.
What keeps you up at night?My master planned community build - to hopefully build one day catered to Military Veterans.
How do you market yourself to grow/expand your business?No social media use, mostly word-of-mouth from previous clients.
How involved are you in the community?Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, local Rotary Club, Community Action Partnership of Orange County, Parent Coach for Ending Addiction.
What is your favorite not for profit or charity?Crystal Cathedral Ministries
What advice would you give to someone thinking of getting into this business?Talk to professionals who have been in the business for a couple of decades.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?Singing and playing guitar.
